Easter is fast-approaching on April 1, and with the holiday comes many opportunities for family fun. Here are five things to do in Central Texas to celebrate.

Bring your basket to collect those eggs at the Austin Zoo! Show up early to enjoy a yummy doughnut breakfast, and then get hunting for eggs. Once you finish, go visit the animals, including Texas wildlife, amphibians and big cats. Admission is free for zoo members, and $5 for the general public. Advance registration is required for this event.
City of Harker Heights 23rd Annual Egg Hunt

Date: March 30, 2018 from 1-4 p.m.
An appearance by the bunny, an egg hunt, vendors and prizes will be at the Annual Egg Hunt for children 8 and under. Bring a container in which to collect your eggs, and get ready for some fun. This free event will be held on March 30. More event details can be found on the city's website.

Enjoy breakfast in addition to a petting zoo, egg hunt and ventriloquist. Tickets are $10 if purchased prior to the event and $12.50 at the door. The breakfast will take place at the Belton Christian Youth Center. Tickets can be bought at the Belton Christian Youth Center, Don Ringler Chevrolet and Precious Memories Florist.
Family Picnic and Egg Hunt

This Johnson City event, at Franklin Ranch, features trail rides, music, games, snow cones and a free lunch. Best of all, over 8,000 eggs will be just waiting to be found.
Egg Drop Eggstravaganza

Date: March 24, 2018 from 11 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
The largest egg hunt in Hays County will happen this Saturday. Starting at 11:30 a.m., 80,000 eggs will be dropped for kids to collect. Other activities will be on offer, including inflatable objects on which to bounce, face painting, a photo booth, food vendors and a DJ. The City of Kyle is partnering Gregg-Clarke Park to put on this event.

A two-day event that is free? What more could you want? Come to The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden to experience and celebrate God. On March 31, attend the Resurrection Celebration, complete with barbecue food from Bill's Bar-B-Que. The next day is the Service, complete with Kelani Yogurt.
