We live in a mobile age.  More and more of us now enjoy our freedom by working remotely in coffee shops or cafes.  But, let’s face it, Starbucks is busy and too loud to work.  So what are your alternatives?  Well, there are actually plenty of great coffee shops all around Central Texas that we highly recommend you check out.  Whether you are looking to work remotely, or just sit back and enjoy your “joe,” these spots are great.

Ciafrani Coffee (Georgetown)

Ciafrani Coffee has been open for business since 1992. The atmosphere here is artsy with a twist of hometown comfort. When it comes to making their coffee, Ciafrani is all about green beans. No, these aren't haricots verts or string beans. "Green beans" are unroasted coffee beans. Plus, Ciafrani's special roasting method allows the natural acids of their coffee beans to be retained while the bitter taste of coffee is reduced. All coffees here are made of premium Arabica beans. You may come for a cup of coffee, and leave with a new piece of art.

Red Horn Coffee House and Brewing Co. (Cedar Park)

Coffee here is roasted in-house and crafted with purpose by dedicated baristas. Red Horn has an upbeat atmosphere with a great vibe. Check the menu and you'll find a multitude of great coffee options, from the Signature Drip, to Chemex for 2, to the Artisan Mocha. You can also enjoy a hot drink here at live music events that are held throughout the year.

Caffe Yolly (Cedar Park)

Coffee and yogurt? We weren't entirely sure about it either, but Caffe Yolly prides themselves on those two menu items in particular. On the coffee side of things, they serve Cuvée Coffee, a company based in Austin. You can also get plenty of classic coffee drinks, such as café au lait, as well as ones you might not know as much about, such as butter coffee.

Cuppa Austin (Austin)

Open since 2013, Cuppa Austin is fairly new to the coffee shop world. However, they've done a great job in their time so far. With a drink menu that nears 100 choices, they have seemingly something for everyone. Their coffee, both hot and cold, is Armando's blend, and comes from all over the world. Come in to try coffee from areas such as Central America, Indonesia, and Africa.

Star Coffee Texas (Round Rock)

Star Coffee Texas opened in 2009 and has proven to be, well, stars in the coffee world (sorry, we couldn't resist!). Not only do they have an outstanding selection of coffee, they also have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu that's to die for.

Houndstooth Coffee (Austin)

Houndstooth Coffee prides their baristas at being the best around. Here, the people that make your coffee receive thorough professional training, which makes every sip all the more enjoyable. They also have one of the most unique slogans for a coffee shop we've ever come across: "The pattern of coffee and people."

If you are a coffee shop advocate or novice, try any of these shops for an enjoyable time in a relaxed atmosphere. For more information about the Central Texas area, feel free to contact us!
